The challenge of making Mondays happy days: conversation between multinational executive Juan Lizariturry and coach Luis Carchak

24 September 2020

'The strength of a team with the same Purpose' is the title of the conversation that Luis Carchak, director of the Team Coaching programme, held within the Desafío Coaching 2020 forum together with Juan Lizariturry.

Mergers between companies, the role of the CEO, values, the weight of shareholders, company building and happiness are some of the central themes of this conversation between Luis Carchak and Juan Lizariturry.

In this conversation, Juan Lizariturry looks back on his experiences and what he has learned, which he says is also achieved through mistakes.

The executive who has led organisations and multinationals in Spain and Latin America, for whom "the important thing is not what you have done, but what you can help others from today onwards", assures in the conversation the importance of striving for the happiness of people, of the work of the CEO as the generator of the necessary trust, for impressing passion for work and for spreading the purpose.

"We must remember that the end and the purpose is the customer and the end consumer and not so much the shareholder," Juan assures us at one point. "There is nothing more important than people giving the best they have inside and for that they have to be happy working. And we are responsible for making people happy, so that people get up in the morning and want to go to work.

Luis Carchak, MCC coach and team and management coach, says that people do not have a predefined meaning. "Man is not born with a purpose in life, but it is something that is built. We have to have the conversations to generate that meaning. It is something that we all create and design together", and that is the purpose, for example, of team coaching.

Uncertainty and the current crisis due to the pandemic, the application of vision and strategy, the coexistence of companies in these contexts and with millennials and digitalisation, the construction of the future of business and markets, competition... are some of the other topics that appear in this one-and-a-half hour conversation that took place on 14 September.
