Juan Luis Ayuso defined "the creativity as the mental process of generating ideaswhile Innovation is the realisation of these ideas into different products, services or processes. and novel".
In addition to highlighting the importance of creativity and innovation as skills valued in the professional field, the expert in consulting and coaching projects for companies, mentioned how these concepts are often confused, although they have key differences. Thus, he explained, creativity involves imagination and generation of new ideas, while innovation focuses on the practical application ofe these ideas to add value to a company.
Alignment and leadership in organisations
On innovation, the expert did not hesitate to mention the risk associated with innovation and the importance of aligning it with business objectives.
In this respect, he highlighted the role of leadership in promoting a environment that fosters creativity and innovation, together with learning and psychological safety. As for the teams, he emphasised how they must manage and learn from mistakes, and the importance of trust and communication.
Finally, the coach and consultant linked these concepts to coaching and the Design Thinking methodology, highlighting the importance of empathy, challenge definition, creative ideation and prototyping in the coaching process and concluded his participation by emphasising the importance of creativity and innovation in all aspects of life and encouraging participants to reflect on their own creative journey and to embark on new adventures.
