MCS: This is the new ICF specialisation for Mentor Coaches

3 July 2026

The changes announced by the International Coaching Federation this spring to its accreditation model, incorporating new specialisations and credentials, are already reflected in the European School of Coaching's offering, true to its purpose of supporting the coaching community to comply with the ICF's from the outset.

Among the recent changes announced by the ICF, two new credentials stand out: Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) and Coaching Supervisor Specialization (CSS), and two new accreditations for programmes: AAMC (Advanced Accredited Mentor Coach) y AASC (Advanced Accredited Supervisor Coach).

Specialisations and accreditations that the ICF dedicates to coaches who are dedicated, or wish to be dedicated, to mentoring and supervising other coaches.

The first step taken by EEC consists of offering specific training in Mentor Coaching, as required by ICF, to all professionals who wish to obtain their MCS through professional experience. Training that can be taken from 24 September, online and live via streaming.

Therefore, coaches who are already practising or want to practise as coaches' mentors and support coaches in their professional development specifically on ICF competencies, can take the next step hand-in-hand with EEC's experts.
