On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Escuela Europea de Coaching (EEC), Manuela Rama, coach, facilitator and supervisor at EEC Catalonia, shared her inspiring vision of serendipity in a webinar that generated a lot of connection and which formed part of the "Las Ventanas" cycle of events organised by the EEC.
Under the name "Serendipity", Manuela stressed the importance of chance encounters and coincidences in life, comparing them to "an invisible thread that links lives and experiences". Serendipity, he explained, is that magic that leads us to experience fortunate, unexpected encounters and discoveries, which although we cannot see, we know they exist and lead us to connect with our own history.
"For me, serendipity is part of the magic of life, it is like that which I cannot see and yet it exists. It's like a thread that I can't see but that connects the waters.
A large part of his presentation focused on the importance of the joy and love to create sincere connections with others. With a close approach, the coach offered a thoughtful and inspiring perspective on serendipity and its influence on our lives and our personal and professional development.
This was already advocated by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, quoted by the speaker, for whom these synchronous events suggested that there is a deeper interconnectedness in the universe that goes beyond the cause-effect relationships we usually observe.
Manuela emphasised how moments of serendipity and synchronicity can open up new options and offer unexpected opportunities. Thus, she recalled, with great emotion, her encounter with the Escuela Europea de Coaching, where she found the love and joy that has led her to contribute in these 20 years of institutional life.
In this sense, Manuela also recalled the story of the meeting between the members of the Escuela Europea de Coaching, a moment defined by synchronicity and chance.
Internal harmony
Finally, the coach invited the participants to build moments of serendipity by connecting with their inner harmony, which can enable these thoughts and experiences. In her presentation, Manuela also encouraged them to share their own stories of serendipity, which generated an emotional and meaningful exchange in the chat of the event.
