Psychologists, interested in coaching for adolescents and older people

The explanations for these programmes, which aim to equip participants with tools to improve their personal development, were provided by Rosa Barriuso, co-director of the adolescent programme, and Rosa Zappino, Mavi Catalá and Luis Miró, responsible, for their part, for the senior programme.

The EEC coaching programmes for adolescents and adults are primarily made up of dynamics, practical exercises, and activities. The spirit of the EEC, where the teaching methodology is live and experiential, was clarified by the speakers, who explained the topics and content of both programmes.

Regarding Teen Class, in addition to explaining the programme the youngsters follow, reference was made to the section for parents, who are brought together to update them on concepts but not on conversations. Confidentiality is maintained.

“It’s about explaining to a father what a distinction is, so that if one afternoon his son starts talking to him from that perspective, he’ll know how to understand him and know what he’s talking about,” explains Luis Miró, coach and trainer at the EEC.

Regarding older people, the EEC team also presented the Senior Class programme, which focuses on this group adopting resources to review their conversations, evaluate their emotions, and improve their relationships.

There was quite a lot of debate at the end of the presentation, so the session ran over time. Most of the questions were directed towards the essence of these programmes, towards their format.

The conclusion is that neither Teen Class nor Senior Class is a succession of sessions with a coach, but rather they are training programmes based on group learning days so that the participant can incorporate tools that will help them in their personal development.

“The aim of these programmes is to deliver coaching techniques and skills to adults and adolescents alike, so that they can take them away and improve their development in any family, academic or social sphere,” Luis Miró continued to explain.
