The fourth meeting of the Corporate Talks series organised by EEC Consultancy featured Mercè Barquero, HR and Communication Manager at Otsuka, who shared her experience and the innovations implemented in the company in terms of leadership and coaching during the webinar held on 16 November.
With 14 years of experience in the Japanese company Otsuka, a leading company in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sector, Mercè Barquero highlighted during her conversation with Joan Díaz, Director of Business Development and EEC Catalonia, how Otsuka has integrated coaching practices into its organisational structure.
The expert detailed Otsuka's relationship with the European Car School (EEC), pointing out that the certification of several members of the management team in executive coaching was a key step in promoting this discipline within the company.
A leadership model a culture of development
Since then, the board continued, the organisation has implemented a programme called 'Otsuka Management Academy', focused on "develop a leadership model based on humility, listening and learning together, where coaching plays an essential role".
Barquelo described how EEC carried out a process of adaptation and customisation of the coaching programme to meet the specific needs of Otsuka, highlighting the significant impact on leadership and communication within the company.
