15 October 2019

The Gicaf group, formed by the participants of the Specialisation Programme in Families and Adolescents at EEC, has taken stock of the work carried out so far and announced its next initiatives during its meeting held on 10 October at EEC Madrid.

More than 40 coaches trained at EEC in the field of family and youth accompaniment collaborate on a voluntary basis to "tackle different projects and support new initiatives for the use of coaching tools in the group of adolescents and families".

Among the projects highlighted at the meeting were those carried out at the A la Par Foundation, the Impact of Coaching in Education Research Project and the Family School. In addition, they announced their next activity: a talk by Luis González Jover on his "experience on the Camino de Santiago with groups of teenagers where he gives coaching workshops".

Gicaf is also currently working on the Research project on the impact of coaching in education, whose purpose is "to find out the impact of coaching processes on adolescents and young people within the family and institutional environment" through the collection of data in relation to certain key competences.

With regard to the Family Schoolwhose objective is "to offer parents and educators a programme based on coaching tools and oriented towards the development of skills for those who want to accompany their teenagers in the most appropriate way for their maturity", the group, which has already been in charge of 17 workshops, is preparing a new agenda of specific meetings for the end of this month.

Finally, at the October meeting, the group took stock of the Project at Fundación A la Parwhich has been developed over the last two years. In this project, Gicaf coaches have conducted workshops on emotional intelligence, coaching tools and Mindfulness as well as group coaching sessions in order to "provide young people with disabilities with emotional tools to facilitate their integration into the world of work".

Gicaf is coordinated and supervised by Rosa Barriuso, executive coach, team coach, psychologist, expert in families and adolescents, Master Certified Coach by ICF and trainer of the Specialisation Programme in Families and Adolescents in EEC and is available to welcome the proposals and concerns of all students participating in this programme.
