23 June 2023

The webinar 'Success from the Ego Model', part of the EEC's '20 Year Windows' series, was an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between success, authenticity and personal values through the reflections and proposals of expert coach and facilitator Montse Sans, who focused on the importance of deeply understanding what it means to achieve true success.

Drawing on her extensive experience as a coach, Montse Sans delved into the concept of the ego, explaining its formation from early childhood and its influence in shaping people's thoughts, beliefs and behaviours. She emphasised that, "while the ego is an integral part of who we are, it is essential to transcend its limitations in order to embrace authenticity and align ourselves with our personal values".

The webinar also explored the notion of success and its relationship to external opinions and achievements. Montse Sans challenged the conventional view of success, proposing that "true success lies in being aligned with our values and making decisions based on our personal purpose".

Citing authors such as Marian Rojas Estapé and Fredy Kofman, Montse Sans urged those present to "to consider success as more than mere external achievements".. He emphasised the importance of finding "serenity in the knowledge that we have done our best". in any situation, even if the desired result is not achieved.

The webinar concluded with a powerful exercise that encouraged participants to reflect on the qualities and values for which they would like to be remembered. Montse Sans highlighted the importance of defining success on a personal level and living in line with our values.
