Our own hands, in service of creativity and imagination, can be incredibly powerful tools for creating new futures. The LEGO® Serious Play activity, held at EEC Barcelona, was much more than child's play: the Lego bricks showcased their application within the company and also their usefulness in coaching processes.
The LEGO® Serious Play methodology is a method that proposes, through play and the use of imagination, to explore different possibilities to ultimately increase personal or business effectiveness. This was confirmed yesterday by the more than 20 participants in the workshop, who were able to manipulate the classic building blocks to generate an open and dynamic dialogue that leads to discovering new ways of thinking and new perspectives, as explained in the activity.
The workshop was organised by EEC Alumni, the learning community of the European School of Coaching (EEC), and coordinated by Carmen Jiménez, an executive and team coach, facilitator of the LEGO® Serious Play Methodology, and an expert in «working on communication through imagery and generating environments conducive to reflection and creativity.».
Upon concluding the activity, the speaker shared how connecting with «our inner child» allows us to «imagine, create, build, share, flow, and reflect,» and she wished to thank EEC for the «great turnout» and the attendees for «giving yourselves permission to play without judgment or limitations, and with curiosity.».
For their part, among those attending, comments stood out about their experience «broadening consciousness through play,» and their gratitude for the power to «ask, build, share, reflect» and for «learning from coaches»; also for enjoying «afternoons of great learning in the best company.».
