2 January 2023

  • Your name: Maria de Mondo.
  • Title of the book: "I, EGO".
  • Publication date: 2022.

Maria de Mondo, answers a questionnaire about her book, YO, EGO:

What has writing this book been useful for you, and what did you enjoy most about the process?

To share in a clear way the great role that the ego plays in our lives, being able to reach as many people as possible.

What I have enjoyed most is the challenge of making the difficult easy and sharing different transformative experiences, both my own and those of my clients.

What learnings from the book relate most to the way you experience coaching?

All of them. I realised that the ego lurks behind any problem or worry, and that learning to identify it in order to keep it at bay is key to living in peace. I do a lot of ego work with my clients and it is wonderful. When you get to connect with yourself, with your true self, without the ego dominating your life, everything changes.

Any moments of insight during your reading?

I think that's for readers to determine. I've had a lot of reviews come in saying: "my head exploded", so I imagine there are those. In my own process I've had a lot.

What tools from the book can be used in a coaching process?

The whole final part of the book talks about how to make this connection with oneself. How to put the ego aside. It invites us to question everything the ego is telling us. Those first interpretations full of fear, insecurity, expectations... to help us see beyond. To connect with the other and transform that thought that is causing us discomfort.

At what point in the learning process as coaches might it be advisable to read it?

I would say at any time. Both for you as a coach and for accompanying your coachees.
