It's not just about \u201cgetting the session right\u201d, it's about taking care with intention.\u00a0<strong>how we are<\/strong>\u00a0in it: presence, conscience, ethics and coherence.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key ideas<\/strong> on the ICF Competence Update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Coach development is seen in a more holistic way:<\/strong>\u00a0not only training, but also personal development and continuous learning spaces such as supervision.\u00a0 <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Welfare matters (and is made explicit):<\/strong>\u00a0sustaining emotional, physical and mental balance is part of the professional standard.\u00a0 <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>More awareness of bias and influence:<\/strong>\u00a0the focus was on recognising how our judgements, stories and patterns can creep into the session.\u00a0 <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AI and technology on the radar:<\/strong>\u00a0addressed the impact of the use of AI tools and the need to reinforce ethical and confidentiality criteria.\u00a0 <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contributing without \u201cleading\u201d:<\/strong>\u00a0One of the most discussed points was how to share observations or resources without losing the spirit of coaching: autonomy, responsibility and client choice.\u00a0 <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The session closed with very concrete questions on how these nuances are observed in practice on the ICF competency update, and with an idea that sums up well the spirit of the meeting:\u00a0<strong>the quality of coaching does not depend on the tools alone; it depends above all on the quality of the coach in the conversation<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the latest open session of EEC Alumni, we focused on a topic that is already impacting conversations, evaluations, and mentoring processes: the update of the ICF Competency Model.
