HR Strategy and Change Management, \u00abNow we are a real team, where the magic flows\u00bb.\u00bb<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>THE VALUE OF EEC<\/p>\n<p>Before this process with Escuela Europea de Coaching, the Management Team was a group of good professionals. After the EEC process, we became a real team with rules, productive conversations, feedback...<\/p>\n<p>We are a team where the magic flows and where if one doesn't arrive, others arrive and we all arrive; where the sum of the parts is different from the whole. We reconfigured ourselves as a team to redraw our way of working. We have learned a lot, and that, in a management team, is sometimes not easy.<\/p>\n<p>Giving honest feedback is complex, but we are all aware of what we have to do to work as a team.<br \/>\nThis is the awareness that Escuela Europea de Coaching has given us. It has been an exciting journey.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>As a management team, we took on the challenge of building a five-year business plan, at the same time as we were going through a change of leadership at Rituals. Aware of the difficulties, we felt we needed help to meet the challenge as a team.<\/h3>\n<p>What was not working was teamwork and trust in dealing with conflict and receiving honest feedback. We were working as a group of professionals, each with responsibility and decision-making power over his or her area of management, but nobody interfered in each other's area of responsibility.<\/p>\n<h2>Different speeds<\/h2>\n<p>The entire management team collaborated from the beginning in the process, although not all of us had the same degree of trust and openness at the outset. In order not to lose these people, we activated a formula based on two points:<\/p>\n<p>On the one hand, allow enough space for each person to do their process. An important part is not to be in a hurry and to hold as many formal\/informal team sessions as it takes, until the perception is that everyone is flowing and \u2018on board\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if necessary, to have individual conversations (or coaching sessions) by the coaches who were accompanying the group. In this sense, in the case of the management team, we decided that it was easier to do the individual process with external coaches. The position of each person in the company can condition the process.<br \/>\nAs a result, we create a positive contagion at different paces to be in an increasingly participatory and enriching environment for all.<\/p>\n<h2>Collaboration and openness<\/h2>\n<p>It has changed the way we make decisions on certain key issues, now it is done as a team and in a consensual way when possible and, if not, aligning ourselves with the decision taken. In case of conflict we do not have specific Golden Rules, but we have a solid foundation and the other Golden Rules (listening, respecting the opinion of others, etc.) facilitate resolution.<\/p>\n<h2>A new style of leadership<\/h2>\n<p>The style of leadership has undoubtedly changed, it is more participative. The strength of the group is greater than that of the individual or the leader. The spirit created is maintained, we review the Golden Rules at every meeting and when there has been a change in our own team.<\/p>\n<h2>Change is in people<\/h2>\n<p>People have the capacity to change and also to block change. And we need people to be the protagonists to push for change in the organisation. The leader's role will be like that of the coach who facilitates and channels these changes. The challenge in organisations is to channel the energy that teams have and put it at the service of what we want to happen.<\/p>\n<h2>Extensive results<\/h2>\n<p>This systemic approach that we have incorporated in the management team has gone further and has had a multiplier effect.
